Barlow Lane Lavender oil comes from a small lavender producer in the heart of the Sonoma wine country. Their lavender is naturally grown without fertilizers or pesticides, and is harvested by hand starting mid-June. They grow Provence, Grosso and White varieties. The oil is extracted using a small manual still from the flowers only –– the stems are discarded before the distillation process. As a result, the oil is very concentrated –– use sparingly!

Oh yes y’all- ruby, flaming, opium poppy red tint for your lips! Made from veggies and herbs no less! This ruby red leans on the side of a deep orange, this lip stain is not a lip stick. It is a tint made with vegetables and herbs for color, and tints the lips a color that varies from person to person depending on their natural lip color. The intention is not to be a dark red, but just add a hint of color and mainly to moisturize and offer a non- chemical filled cosmetic. It has been used as a cheek stain too- but the color is less concentrated. This balm will moisturize and protect the lips while giving them that ‘just ate a cherry popsicle’ pout. Essential oils of clove and orange mirror the vibe of the color.
Shelf stable Ingredients: alkanet*, beet* & turmeric* infused sunflower oil*, beeswax, essential oils of clove* & sweet orange*
Yup. No Bees Wax. Hard to find a lip balm without either bees wax or paraffin wax.
Moist, soft, and dewy. This lip balm will leave your lips nourished and sensual.
Ok here's the problem with bee's wax. According to Kim of Luminance, bee's wax extracts the naturally occurring oils from your skin and brings it to the surface so that you think it's moisturizing but because it elements your skin's natural protection, moisture evaporates out of your skin. Eventually, your skin depletes and gets chapped more and more quickly.
And Paraffin or "Mineral Oil Wax", taken from petrochemical byproducts, are just a bad idea to be putting around and almost inside your mouth. Very nasty. So none of that.
It really should be called a lotion for your lips.
A Few Words On Ingredients:
Obviously, pristine super quality ingredients are very important. Every constituent of a skincare product should be either organic or wildcrafted; theirs are. Ingredients considered separately should all be what skin readily considers a nutrient source and non threatening; theirs are. And lastly formulating an ideal skincare product is a lot more than just randomly assembling a list of good ingredients, it's understanding the secondary and sometimes tertiary interactions and achieving the ideal ratios, they do.

New recipe! We're convinced our housemade deodorant is better than any aluminum-based, plastic-packaged deodorant on the market, to keep you smelling clean but not chemical-ly or perfume-y. We've played with our recipe to make it even more effective and nicer on the skin! Essential oils chosen for their antibacterial affect are blended into a base of coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax (from East Bay hives!) for a cream that is easy to apply with a barely noticeable scent.
Ingredients: coconut oil, refined shea butter, baking soda, arrowroot, beeswax, essential oils of black pepper, tea tree, lemongrass, rosemary and cedarwood.
