Like other members of the allium family, leeks are antimicrobial, help reduce inflammation and regulate lipid levels in the blood. Leeks contain important amounts of the flavonoid kaempferol, which has been shown to help protect blood vessel linings from damage. Leeks are also an excellent source of Vitamin K, which helps regulate the body’s inflammatory process, and they offer good amounts of manganese, Vitamin B6, copper, iron, folate, calcium, Vitamins C and E, and omega-3 fatty acids.
Inside this jar are approximately 50 servings! One teaspoon equals an average-size serving of the fresh vegetable. To use, sprinkle on salads, eggs, rice and quinoa, buttered popcorn, steamed or roasted vegetables, fish or chicken. Add to smoothies, soups, stews, pasta, spaghetti sauce – really, anything you enjoy eating! One of our favorite ways to use Leek Powder is sprinkled over buttered and baked sweet potatoes.
