Bacon Black Pig Meat Co.

The pigs are sustainably raised on family farms that respect the land and the animals in their care. the pigs are heritage breed, raised without antibiotics and hormones, and are allowed to roam free. This bacon is dry cured with brown sugar for up to 21 days and then finished with applewood smoking for about 12 hours. They are focused on quality not quantity. The result is a bacon that is perfectly balanced in salt, sweet, and smoke; complex from the brown sugar and real wood smoke; and one where you can taste the quality of the pork

Freestone Ranch in Sonoma is just starting to offer their meat to a wider audience. The cows roam on pastures according to a system of grazing management called known as Holistic Grazing or Restoration Ranching, which mirrors their natural movement habits and is extremely beneficial for both the animals and the environment. This grazing pattern maximizes the sequestration of carbon and methane, encourages extremely deep roots and a thriving soil microbiome, increases drought resistance and supports the biodiversity of native grasslands. Comes Frozen this week. This concentrated paste combines the adaptogenic power of turmeric with a bit of black pepper, which is known to increase turmeric's potency many times over. Designed as a base for Golden Milk, a classic Ayurvedic healing drink, you can also add it to broth or rice, blend it onto curries or stir-fries, even add it to scrambled eggs!

Serving suggestion: to make Golden Milk, stir 1/2 teaspoon of Golden Blend into 1 cup of heated milk of your choosing. Note: If you are taking other dietary herbs or supplements, you may want to check with your practitioner to make sure this is compatible.

In our version of this traditional Argentinian stew, grassfed beef is simmered with first-of-the-season local butternut squash from Seely Farmstand in Sonoma, along with potatoes, sweet potatoes, and lima beans with nixtimalized posole (corn hominy) from Anson Mills for a delightfully complex dish. In Argentina this stew is typically served with a hot pepper sauce.

For a taste of the French countryside (and the Sonoma countryside) we combined seasonal greens and leeks from local farms such as Russian River Organics, First Light Farm and Live Oak Farm with French green lentils and brined pastured pork leg from Marin Sun Farms. A splash of dry white wine and plenty of mineral rich bone broth make for a hearty bowl that is great with a big dollop of our Piima or Yogurt Cream.

This recipe was developed by Three Stone Hearth chef Cevie Touré, who specializes in the cuisine of the African Diaspora, to recreate one of the most popular stews eaten throughout West Africa. It features local meats braised with tomatoes, onions, Paul's Produce carrots, Riverdog Farm cabbage and chiles. Our version is milder than what you would find in West Africa, but still has a bit of a kick! It can be eaten on its own, but is also wonderful over rice.

Apparently, "stroganoff" was the most-searched recipe online in 2017. In our nutrient-dense version, grassfed beef, mushrooms, and grassfed, sour cream make a scrumptious trio! First, onions, mushrooms and herbs are sauteed in butter. The pan is deglazed with white wine, then the sauteed vegetables are simmered with ground beef and bone broth. The stroganoff is finished with Redwood Hill's Green Valley Sour Cream, cultured long enough to be lactose-free!
