Get your DIY remedies going for cold and flu season! In this class you will discover how to make immune supportive “Friar’s Cyder” (our take on a traditional tonic) and tasty shrub syrups. Learn how vinegar is made and why sweetened infused vinegars, known as “oxymels” should be a part of everyone’s home health practice. Students will leave with their own blended bottle of shrub syrup and complete instructions for making vinegars and oxymels at home.
With over three years experience at Three Stone Hearth, worker-owner Kathryn Thompson is an integral part of our Fermentation and Preservation Circle. Her take on creative and nourishing tonics and vinegars comes from apprenticing with herbalist Linda Conroy, working at the Midwest Women’s Herbal Conference, and wildcrafting and developing recipes here at Three Stone.
