Landsea Gomasio 2 oz.

$13.00

Landsea is the pacific northwestern incarnation of the traditional Japanese seasoning gomasio (‘goma’: sesame +’ shio’= salt). In this version the salt is replaced with bull kelp, a mineral rich algae and nettles, a nutrient dense medicinal plant, which both flourish abundantly in this region. Landsea is designed to let the wild flavors of the Orcas Island shine, and to support your body with their nourishing powers. The salty flavor of bull kelp is predominantly potassium rather than sodium. This makes it an excellent substitute for table salt. Dried bull kelp is composed of up to 50% mineral, primarily potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous and iodine among others. Bull kelp is also full of vitamins and essential fatty acids. Nettles have been described as nature’s multi-vitamin. They are loaded with vitamins and minerals and have been used for centuries to cure a wide variety of ailments and to support many systems of the body. Sesame is a great source of copper and manganese as well as calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorous, vitamin b1, zinc, molybdenum, selenium and dietary fiber. Ostara Cocotella A Raw Chocolate Coconut Butter

$15.00

Cocotella is a coconut butter with added cacao nibs and coconut sugar, stone ground for 3 days. It's like a healthier version of Nutella! All the ingredients are organic: it is a mix of healthy coconut fat and sugar that help to deliver direct trade Nicaraguan cacao. The key difference from other nut butters is the fact that coconut butter is solid at room temperature. However, at temperatures of 76 degrees and above, it starts to melt. This makes the butter more pliable and spreadable. This product has been stone ground in small batches for 24 hours at a low speed and low temperature. This creates a texture and taste impossible to replicate in high-speed, high-throughput metal processing machines (metal-on-metal cutting machines have implications for quicker oxidation and rancidity as well as zinc and cadmium toxicity in food). The result is a silky smooth texture without grit or dryness and a sweeter flavor. Ingredients: Coconut, Cocoa Nibs and Coconut sugar.

Ostara Stone Ground Coconut Butter

$12.35

Ostara crafts their coconut butter from only the finest, organic and raw ingredients which are slowly stone ground to draw out flavor while creating a silky, smooth texture. Ingredients: Organic Stone Ground Coconut

Raw Honey Trio- Golden Gate Neighborhood

$20.00

This trio makes a great host gift for Holiday parties! Alice Rosenthal, beekeeper and rescuer, likes to think of honey as in Forest Gump's famous line, "Local honey is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you might get". The beauty and surprise behind local wildflower honey is - you just don't know what you're gonna get. But one thing for sure - they are all going to taste great and different from each other. Alice of Golden Gate Neighborhood Honey, maintains slightly over 100 hives in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The majority of maintained hives are from West Richmond, Upper Fruitvale, and North Oakland/South Berkeley. Most are wild honey that was harvested while rescuing and relocating honey bees in naturally occurring hives. The honey is processed differently when it is harvested from a wild environment. There are no frames to support the comb it must then be crushed (with hands) to liberate the honey. While harvesting the honey, small amounts of pollen and wax enter into the honey. Her efforts are helping our local bee populations happy and healthy.

Let's support her in keeping our local trees pollinated! These Jars are randomly picked form her many Wild harvests and make a great sampler of the huge varieties in flavor color and texture. The trios are random selections of three varieties: Hercules, Richmond Marina, El Sobrante, El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley, Rockridge, Montclair, Fruitvale, Hayward, Claremont.

Vital Choice Albacore Tuna 6 oz.

$10.00

Unlike national brands, Vital Choice canned Albacore Tuna is cooked only once, to preserve its fresh flavor, firm texture, and healthful omega-3s. In addition to ample protein, Albacore provides omega-3s in abundance, and substantial amounts of vitamin D.

All Vital Choice Albacore comes from a North Pacific fishery in which smaller boats line-catch individual tuna using the sustainable troll method, which ensures careful handling of each fish, safety for dolphins, and very minimal bycatch.

*Dolphin safe

* No added oil, water or salt

* Low sodium

* Easy-open top

* Certified Kosher (OU B.Y. & M.T.—full oversight) *

* Certified sustainable by Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Thanks to its sustainable harvest and lower mercury content, albacore from this fishery is categorized as “Super Green” by Monterey Bay Aquarium. Vital Choice has this to say about their Albacore Tuna: "[It] is sustainably harvested by our neighbor Paul Hill, who quickly flash-freezes it on his small boat to preserve the fish at its peak of freshness. Because predatory fish such as tuna accumulate mercury over time, Paul provides us with younger, smaller Albacore tuna (14 lbs. or less) for optimal purity."

Yukari Shiso Condiment

$11.00

The red shiso leaves give the distinct red color and flavor to the Umeboshi Plums; they sit together for months in the pickling bucket. After the aging process is done, they take them out, sundry them, and make into a delightful condiment.

It has that bright tanginess from the plums and still assertive shiso flavor. Japanese people love to sprinkle Yukari onto their bowls of steamed rice. Our recent favorite is to sprinkle on melon or fig salads. The unique flavor and its natural color are unlike anything else!

Enjoy experimenting new matches of the flavors on your own!

Size: 1 oz Compostable Bag

Yume Boshi Umeboshi Salty Plums 4.5 oz

$15.50

Yume Boshi founder Ayako Iino grew up eating her mother's house made umeboshi pickles. She founded Yume Boshi in 2013 as the fruit on the ume plum trees became ripe in Northern California. Using traditional methods Ayako set to work transforming the tangy fruit she sources from small local orchards into pickles. Koume is a style of umeboshi pickle that is made with a different variety of ume plum. The fruit is smaller and more delicate. Soft, tangy, salty, bright red color --- that same taste but it can be used with less impact.

Great for rice balls or for bento box. Umeboshi is a savory ume plum pickle eaten as a condiment for rice every day in Japan. She uses locally sourced plums and traditional methods of preparation. Ume plums are salted, flavored with red shiso leaves, and then dried under the California sun to make umeboshi. The ultimate companion for a bowl of plain steamed rice. (Mix in small amount as you wish.) Stronger taste than your usual pickle - a little goes a long way!??

Ingredients: ume plums, sea salt, red shiso leaves No need to refrigerate, but keep in cool place.
