Product comes frozen. This concentrated paste combines the adaptogenic power of turmeric with a bit of black pepper, which is known to increase turmeric's potency many times over. Designed as a base for Golden Milk, a classic Ayurvedic healing drink, you can also add it to broth or rice, blend it onto curries or stir-fries, even add it to scrambled eggs!

This recipe was developed by former Three Stone Hearth chef Cevie Touré, who specializes in the cuisine of the African Diaspora, to recreate one of the most popular stews eaten throughout West Africa. This old-fashioned vegetable soup starts with one of the cornerstones of traditional French country cooking. The term mirepoix refers to a sautee of vegetables and herbs that often serves as a base for soups, sauces, meat braises and other dishes. Here, we saute carrots, celery, leeks and onions with herbs in a little chicken fat from our house-roasted chickens. We add mineral-rich Celtic sea salt and our chicken bone broth for a classic, nourishing, comforting soup that can be eaten as is, and has endless possibilities!

This is a great option for those who want bone broth in their lives but are trying to eat little or no meat (you can always add your own, of course). Try it with rice, noodles, matzo balls or baby potatoes. Add greens or other seasonal vegetables to make a customized vegetable soup. It is a fantastic base for braising chicken legs or thighs. A new marinated chicken legs recipe from created from family memory by TSH cook Nelly Vidauri! Cook on the grill, the fajita skillet, or just bake in the oven to top a stir-fry. Raw chicken legs are marinated overnight in a rich blend of spices and condiments, then frozen in tins.

They thaw fairly quickly in the tin.  Once thawed, roast them covered at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until meat separates from the bone. Halfway through cooking, remove lid and baste with sauce and finish cooking. Wonderful over rice or greens, or to make a meal of a salad or vegetable soup.

We're very excited to be able to offer Sikil Pak, a traditional Mayan pumpkin seed dip from the Yucatan. This dish features an indigineous herb called papalo, commonly used instead of cilantro before Europeans arrived, provided by our favorite urban farmers at Feral Heart Farm in Sunol. To make our version, we take organic pumpkin seeds, soak them in saltwater and lightly toast. We then puree them with tomatoes, caramelized onions, pickled jalapeño peppers, garlic, fresh herbs and citrus juice for a delightful dip that would go especially well with the incomparable blue or white corn tortillas we carry from Alma Semillera.
